This text effect creates types with color patches similar to patterns found in cattle hide. This style looks best with typefaces that have plenty of surface areas to show the bovinated color patches. The color patches can also be used for camouflage design. You can use this style for your text logo design, web page header design, menu navigation, or use it as a base to add more embellishments later. This style is an enhanced version of the standard bovinated text style available in the open source GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program).

You can specify both the text surface and bovinated patch pattern color. For best result, the patches should be in dark color against a very bright text surface color, preferraby light gray or white. The rendered text can be placed on either a plain color or another background pattern. With many combinations of font choices, pattern or gradient overlays, this single effect is very flexible to give your design unlimited potential.

What gives the text its three- dimensional depth appearance is the careful placement of the drop shadow. Here you can choose the drop shadow color, size, and distance from its source object to simulate the location of the light source. The larger the drop shadow size, the blurrier its appearance is.

6. Turbulence  
(Default 0, no turbulence). Enter a non-zero value to indicate the turbulence factor. A larger value creates more random noise and spikes in the patch pattern. A lower value creates patterns having smoother edges.

Enter a value to indicate the horizontal increment. A larger value creates larger bovinated patches and the patterns are further apart in the horizontal direction. A lower value creates smaller and denser patches.
