This text effect works best on types rendered at fairly large size. The effect traces the outline of each
character in the supplied text string to generate an embellishment contour for each character as if the text
string has both the outer and inner border.
You can add an image overlay or gradient pattern to the text surface to blend the text to your web page design.
The rendered text can be placed on either a plain color or another background pattern. With many combinations of font
choices, pattern or gradient overlays, this single effect is very flexible to give your design thousands of unique
personalities.
What gives the text its three- dimensional depth appearance is the careful placement of the drop shadow.
Here you can choose the drop shadow color, size, and distance from its source object to simulate the
location of the light source. The larger the drop shadow size, the blurrier its appearance is.
The following illustration shows a short text string with different image overlay patterns.
The 3D outline text effect engine behind this page can produce a text pattern on a plain color
background, or plain color text on a background pattern, or both.
However, this effect looks best where the text is placed on a background having a solid color, or where
the same pattern is used for the text overlay and its background. Click the eyedropper tool below to choose
your appropriate background color.
