Follow the guidelines suggested by the Project Wizard to enter your DVD project name. You should assign meaningful names to your DVD projects so that past projects can be archived and retrieved quickly. This simple housekeeping will make the chore of managing past projects painless and less time-consuming. Scenarist allows a project name with alphanumeric characters, hyphens, and underscores only. Click the button with three dots (…) to select the folder where your new DVD project is stored. In this guide, the DVD project name 1.scn is entered as shown below.

Once the DVD project name is defined, the Project Wizard redisplays the previous dialog with the complete path and file name. If you are satisfied with the chosen project name, click Next to continue.

The Project Wizard shows the following dialog.

We are interested in making a new DVD-Video disc so leave the default selection as is. For hybrid disc which includes data files, we will discuss the alternate recording methods of ISO/UDF recording and the names of the additional directories in subsequent guides of this section. For now, click Next to continue. The following dialog is shown.

If your DVD project is smaller than 4.38 GB (the capacity of a recordable single-sided, single-layered DVD-R), leave the default selection as is. Select the "Dual Layer Disc" if your DVD project is larger than 4.38 GB.
Click Next to continue.
