Scenarist displays the following screen if the Scenario Editor tab is selected.
For each new DVD project, the following four major DVD structures are created
automatically. Each structure is displayed as a different icon to highlight its
category and function in the DVD project.
1) The
first-play PGC (First PGC) with a built-in
precommand (
JumpTT 1 which jumps
to the first title labeled Title_1 in this example). A color arrow is displayed to
indicate the link relationship. The pre-command icon symbol (Pre) is highlighted in
yellow to indicate the presence of one or more virtual machine commands in the
precommand section of the first-play PGC. The first-play PGC is the first thing a
DVD player looks for when a DVD disc is loaded into the DVD player. In general,
the First-Play PGC is an empty PGC with no cells and contain precommands to link
to the first video, default to Title_1 in this case. Scenarist allows the DVD author
to add or modify commands of any PGCs at any time during the authoring process.
2) The Video Manager (VMG) with no PGCs or
language units.
If your DVD project does not have a
title menu,
the VMG can be left empty.
3) The first video title set (VTS). Each DVD project requires at least one video
title set with one title. Scenarist assigns the default name VTS_1 and Title_1 to
the first VTS and the first video title. If you want to change the name of each item
to suit your preference, click to select the item which needs to be modified.
In this example, we are going to change the name of the first VTS from VTS_1 to
VTS_01 and Title_1 to Title1 (removing the underscore). Click the appropriate icon
and change its name in the Property Browser window.
4) The first video title in the title set. In most cases, a video title consists of
sequential segments of film clips together with audio tracks.
