In the Scenarist environment, a slide show is a still image to be displayed for a specific duration. A slide show may or may not have highlighted (menu buttons) items for selection. If a slide show has one or more highlighted items, it behaves exactly like a typical menu until it expires. A slide show always disappears at the end of its duration. A still menu stays on screen indefinitely until certain events that make it disappear (pressing a menu choice, for example). This guide shows you how to build slide shows which have the behaviors of a still menu in either the title (VTS) domain or title menu (VTSM) domain for interactive game applications. The following screen shot shows the "Slide show" selection for the track "intro".

This guide shows you step by step how to build the multiple-choice question as shown below. Once you get familiar with the techniques used to build interactive menu, you can design your own mask and highlight layers to build professional menus regardless of the level of complexity. This is one of the areas where Scenarist will leave all other competitor packages, if any, out in the dust.

Scenarist supports the mapping of a specific range of colors from your highlight patterns to one of the four basic colors shown below. This guide shows you how to take advantage of this feature to use color highlights of any color depth to create a DVD-compliant mask pattern.
