If we want to assign a common display attribute (typeface, style, size, and color setting) to all subtitles, we can define and then save our preferred settings via the menu Default Settings… as following.



The DVD command set has the command SetSTN (Set Stream Number) to display or hide a subtitle stream. The DVD author can add a precommand to control the display of the subtitle and to conditionally select a particular subtitle stream. Most DVD players do not automatically display the subtitles if the stream is not forced on (by the "Forced Start" option explained previously). The following precommand is equivalent to specifying the "Forced Start" option.
