It is time to locate the MPEG2 sample video clip provided with this guide (01r.mpg).
This clip represents a short chapter in the title of the video title set. We can
drag this video clip and drop it into the right window pane of the Data Editor tab
to register it as the video asset. We do the same thing for the audio clip. Locate
the sample 01r-2.wav or 01r-2.ac3 audio clip provided with this guide to use as the
audio track for this chapter. We can drag the audio clip and drop it into the right
window pane of the Data Editor tab to register it as the audio asset.
After the video and audio assets are registered successfully, Scenarist generates
the required audio and video streams which are DVD-compliant. The Track Editor tab
is used to assemble multiplexed and synchronized segments of video and audio assets,
which can be referenced throughout the DVD project. Since the final DVD contains
only one chapter, we will need to create one track as shown in the following picture.
We now locate the data item 02r and 01r-2. We drag and drop these assets into the
folder "Tracks" to build the required track for the first chapter as following.
The audio language is set to "English".
To create the subtitle manually with Scenarist, display the Simulation window and
choose the menu item Mode->Edit Subtitle Text or use the icon from the Simulation
window tool bar as following.
The following screen is displayed. We can just type in the text for the subtitle
("Scenarist Survival Guides", in this example). We can choose any typeface available
such as Arial Black (Western), font size (18), and typestyles such as Bold, Italic,
or Bold Italic if such typestyle is available with the chosen family of typeface.
Once the format and style of the subtitle is defined, we can define the chosen combination
as the default setting. We will explain this default setup in the subsequent section of
this guide. To make the subtitle text more legible when overlaying on certain video
backgrounds, we need to make adjustments to the transparency and color settings of the
pattern (P) and edge (E) colors. In this example, the background transparency is set to 0%.
The subtitle color is set to the yellow color from the default color palette. The inner
edge (E1) color is not displayed by setting its transparency level to 0%, and the outer
edge (E2) color is set to black as following.
