Scenarist Survival Guide - Subtitle creation 1 | page 2 | 3

This guide shows you how to display subtitle under program control regardless of the settings of the DVD player. It explains display options such as "Forced Start" from the Subpicture and Highlight tab in the Simulation window as following. You will learn how to set the duration of the subtitle and its placement anywhere on the screen. The coordinates of the rectangular area which encloses the subtitle text are displayed at the bottom of the Simulation window. This guide show you how to adjust these coordinates to fine tune the size and position of the subtitle at the pixel level if needed.

If we want to assign a common display attribute (typeface, style, size, and color setting) to all subtitles, we can define and then save our preferred settings via the menu Default Settings... as following.
