The DVD specifications support three modes of PGC playback: sequential, random, and
shuffle. In the sequential playback mode, a DVD player plays the chapters in a PGC
sequentially, from the first to the last chapter. In the random or shuffle playback
mode, a DVD player plays the chapters randomly in no particular order. Shuffle
playback mode guarantees that a chapter is not repeated in its selection. In other
words, shuffle play does not repeat the same chapter. We now select the entry PGC of
the title so that its properties are displayed in the Property Browser window. We
set the program playback mode via the field "PG Playback Mode" to Shuffle Playback
as following.
We add the post command LinkPGN 1 to start over from the first PGC by dragging the
Post icon and drop it to the first program icon as following. Most DVD players ignore
the postcommands in Shuffle playback mode so additional steps are required if we want
the PGC to play itself indefinitely.
