Since there are four menu buttons in the root menu, Scenarist prompts for the button
which will be assigned the generated virtual machine command. We now select the
button 2 from the prompt window to link this menu item to the chapter/PTT menu.
In the following screen shot, the coordinates of the menu button 2 is displayed
when the cursor is placed on it momentarily. We click on this button to select it.
Scenarist generates the virtual command LinkPGCN n (where n is the PGC number) for
this menu button automatically. For simple authoring projects without complex
branching logic, this method of command generation hides many complex aspects of
the DVD virtual machine instructions from the DVD author.
We continue to link the menu buttons "Angle selection" and "Audio selection" to the
angle menu and audio menu respectively. The menu button "Play movie" links to the
first title of the VTS. Scenarist then displays the link arrows in magenta to
indicate the direction of playback as following.
