Since there are four menu buttons in the title menu, Scenarist prompts for the button which will be assigned the generated virtual machine command. We now select the button 1 from the prompt window to link this menu item to the first title of the project. In the following screen shot, the coordinates of the menu button 1 is displayed when the cursor is placed on it momentarily. We click on this button to select it. Scenarist generates the virtual command JumpTT 1 for this menu button automatically. For simple authoring projects without complex branching logic, this method of command generation hides many complex aspects of DVD virtual machine instructions from the DVD author.

Scenarist then displays an arrow in magenta connecting the button icon to the first title icon to indicate the direction of playback as following.
