We proceed to create the four areas which enclosed the following groups of menu
items: Title 1, Title 2, Set up, and Play All. As their names indicate, the
appropriate menu button item is highlighted in its selection color when the up and down
arrow on the remote control is pressed. When a menu item is chosen, it is momentarily
displayed in its action color before starting the particular menu item (playing back
a title, display another menu page). We select the icon "New Button" on the tool bar
as shown in the following picture and draw the enclosed rectangles as following.
Scenarist provides some alignment tools to align the rectangular highlight areas.
We can select all highlight areas by clicking the cursor icon on the tool bar,
select each rectangular button (numbered from 1 through 4) while holding down the
Shift key. The selected buttons are displayed in blue rectangles with the assigned
button number at the top left corner of each rectangle. For this title menu, the
options "Align Left", "Make Same Width", and "Make Same Height" are used which line
up all menu items (buttons) very well.
For simple vertical or horizontal placement of menu buttons, the "Auto Route"
function works well to link one menu button to another in a circular fashion as
shown in the following picture. If you do not want to use "Auto Route" or if the
linking order is not what you expect, you can use the available manual route icons
on the tool bar to assign routing direction for individual button.
