Now we can add a mask (or highlight) layer to each menu track. We first select the
still scene (labeled m1-t-scn) as shown in the following picture. From the Asset
Manager window, drag the item m1mask and drop it to an empty area between the Still
and Scenes timeline as following.
Scenarist creates the first subpicture layer for the still scene m1-t-scn. The DVD
specifications allow the creation of up to 32 subpicture layers. The default language
for this subpicture layer is "Not Specified". We should select an appropriate
language code so that the language choice is displayed by a standard DVD player (when
the Audio button is pressed on the remote control unit). In this example, we choose
English as the language code for the first subpicture stream.
We repeat the same procedure to create the required subpictures for the still menu
scenes m2-t-scn, m3-t-scn, and m4-t-scn. The following screen shot shows the
subpicture of the scene labeled m4-t-scn. English is assigned as the language code
to the subpicture stream.
