The DVD-Video format uses a subset of the MPEG standards, requiring specific video image resolutions, frame rates, aspect ratios, and other parameters. The DVD Specifications require that the video contents within the same video title set to have identical parameters for the following options:

Format (MPEG-1 or MPEG-2)
Video standard for television system (NTSC or PAL)
Aspect ratio (4:3 Standard or 16:9 Widescreen)
Frame resolution (352 x 240 or 720 x 480 for NTSC; 352 x 288 or 720 x 576 for PAL)

Scenarist only accepts MPEG files which are DVD-compliant. When you create the video files, you must make sure that the encoding parameters are meant for DVD-compliant video.
