From the Simulation window, select the Button tool icon and create the appropriate
menu buttons as following. We can have the menu button enclosed the menu text or
just the highlight diamond-shaped pattern.
The following screen capture shows the transparency and color settings of the display,
selection, and action colors. If we highlight the menu text, the transparency setting
of the selection and action colors should have a low transparency setting so that the
highlight colors blend well with other colors in the background of the menu page,
especially around the edges of the letters.
Scenarist creates a button icon in the Scenario Editor for the title menu cell as
shown in the following picture. Since there are four buttons (menu items) on the
title menu page, Scenarist assigns one virtual command (Nop for No Operation) for
each menu item. The DVD specifications allow only one button command for each menu
button. Scenarist can generate the appropriate virtual machine command for each
button in most common situations where there is no conditional branching. The menu
is now ready to link to other PGCs defined in the Video Manager or other Video Title
Sets.
