Step 6. Import the menu images to Scenarist.
We are going to build a title menu in this example. The procedure to build a root menu is identical except that the language unit having the title menu is part of the Video Manager (VMG) while the language unit having the root menu is part of a Video Title Set (VTS). We now drag the two image files Menu.jpg and MenuMask.jpg, and drop them into the right pane of the Data Editor window. The Asset Manager window shows two new items with the default names as following.

During the registration process, we select the category "Still Image" for the background image file Menu.jpg. Scenarist prompts the registration of the file Menu.jpg as following.

We select the category "Sub-picture with Forced Start" for the image mask MenuMask.jpg file. Scenarist prompts the registration of the file MenuMask.jpg as following. If everything is imported properly without errors, the Information Window shows a message to indicate the acceptance of the files.

We now switch to the Track Editor tab to build the required tracks for the menus. We drag the data item Menu (which is the background image of the title menu) and drop it to the right pane of the Track Editor window as following (the screen shot shows when the operation is completed).
