If we toggle the visibility of the layer labeled "(1) highlight" yields the following background image.

Step 3. Changes to the layer contents. We can change the typeface, font color, type size and the placement of each menu items present in the template to customize the menu display.

Changes to the visual guides.
The blue guides point to the vertical and horizontal ruler to assist the placement and alignment of the menu items. We can choose View->Show->Guides from the tool bar or press Ctrl and ; to toggle its display. To rearrange the guide lines, select the Move tool from the Tool palette or just type V. Then position the cursor at the appropriate guide and just click and drag. The guide line is removed if it is dropped outside the image boundary. To make a new guide, click on the horizontal or vertical ruler and drag the new guide into the image. The following screen shots show the selection of the Move tool and the dragging of the first horizontal guide.
