The following pages show how to create DVD menus from or from your own menu background images using Adobe Photoshop. Combining with DVD-Lab authoring package, you can create menus with stunning professional quality at a very modest cost by observing the following steps.

Step1. Layer adjustments. Photoshop displays the following resized image for the . This image is ready to be saved as the menu background image. The template shows five highlights for the menu options in yellow. The highlight color can be changed to any color to indicate the menu selection or menu action. If you prefer not to display the highlight colors on the menu background, this can be changed by simply hiding the highlight layers.



The following screenshot of the Layer palette shows the layer organization of the menu template 19. The background is named "Layer 1" at the bottom of the layer stack. The menu title and each menu option are organized as layer sets. Each layer set contains the menu text and the highlight pattern (diamond shape in yellow). You can click on each triangular arrow of a layer set to display (down arrow) or hide (right arrow) its contents. To toggle the display or hiding of a specific layer, click on the visibility setting of the layer (the small squares in the first column) as following.
