The purpose of this tutorial is to quickly and easily make a road texture, which can be useful for avoiding the studio car renders. You don't have to follow it word for word as many things can be done in many different ways.
First of all, you will need Photoshop (which I am using here) or a similar piece of software. Secondly, you need a simple asphalt texture. To save your time, you can use one of those which come with 3ds max (if you have it, that is). I used Asphalt3.jpg which is located in the maps/concrete folder.

Here we'll see how to obtain really stylish patterns that allow us to create cool backgrounds and effects. One of the most popular usages of patters is as page background: effectively using a pattern as background let us create a super-fast loading page as the image to load is really really small and is replicated for the entire background.
This tutorial will cover several patterns so we start with the basics and then show all the examples. These are only a few samples of pattern usage, designing random patterns and filling spaces with them can generate pleasant unexpected effects as often, while preparing a pattern, it's not easy to imagine how it will look like once it's really used.
