The following section includes many animation concepts and techniques traditionally used in video and film.

I used ActionScript to accomplish all of these effects. Actionscript in batch mode allows complete control of the generation of advanced Flash animation at the expense of having to be proficient with Javascript and the Flash API.

I abandoned the FLA paradigm since it is not flexible for me to deploy customizable Flash in this environment. After all, you simply cannot let a visitor to customize your designed .fla file. How many times have you downloaded a great .fla file to just look at it without being able to customize the wanted effect.

I created these pages so that any visitor can create a Flash file having advanced effects with just one-click simplicity. Here you can customize many popular effects in Flash such as masking, text effects, etc.

You can leave all options at their default values and generate the final Flash file including the appropriate HTML codes with just one click. You do not need to know Flash or program its scripting language. You do not have to use any traditional desktop Flash tools to create this effect. Enjoy.

The following section demonstrates typical advanced effects in Flash that you can easily customize for your own design or project. There are a minimum of five high-quality commercial typefaces available if type rendering is involved.

This page helps you create a fading effect of a sequence having up to 10 digital images. This simple but popular technique is commonly known as the cross-dissolve transition effect in traditional digital video and film.

This page helps you create a spinning effect of a sequence of small letters. The effect scales the width of individual letters and changes the transparency setting to simulate 3D perspective depth. The result is a realistic rotation of letters in three dimensions.

This page helps you create a stylish animation of a 3D rotating cube. Up to six different pictures can be specified to paste on each side of the cube. For best results, scale or crop your images to have the same width and height before uploading.

The spinning 3D model is a Lego toy truck. The ceramic floor is textured with strong reflectivity so you can see the refelection of the model toy truck. The truck has a cyan windshield which is transparent to a light source from the far right. You can guess that the image is ray-traced with its realistic cast shadow on the floor. Each scene is rendered with the open-source Pov-ray raytracer at 480 by 180 resolution, HDTV aspect ratio.

Flash animation works well with cartoon characters. This page animates a cartoon girl riding a bicyle towards the viewer. A scaling factor is applied to the cartoon girl so her size gets larger when she rides toward the screen.

This animation is designed for night scene and works best against a very dark background. I designed this animation in time for Christmas 2006. You can use this page to create your Flash version of Christmas with Santa and his raindeers flying across the night sky. This Flash animation offers many configurable options to create many possible customized versions.

This page helps you create a realistic fire effect. The fire generation technique is based on the hue-saturation-luminosity color model. Multiple random blur filters are applied to the base color area to create many variations of realistic fire and flame patterns.
