This page helps you create a stylish animation text effect with smoke. The letters are rolling in while being scaled down from an initial large size to form a text line at your specified baseline and font size. A puff of smoke is displayed to simulate the effect of an extinguished explosion. The smoke pattern is initiated at small volume and expands outward.

The rolling effect can be controlled with additional rotational effect. You can vary several basic parameters such as the initial and ending font size, smoke colors, and the rolling speed to customize the animation sequence for your design need. This effect is available with five high-quality commercial typefaces.

This technique should be animated at relatively high speed to make the smoke effect more realistic. You can add the illusion of more smoke volume by specifying a bright secondary color to enhance the initial color of the smoke.

The image is originally designed at 400 by 200 pixels. If the image width and height are specified at this size, no scaling will occur. For best result, your design image should be cropped to the same dimension to avoid the scaling artifacts.

The Linux-based ActionScripting engine behind this page generates the graphic file in industry standard Flash swf format that is supported by most modern browsers, and is compatible to all Flash player versions. You can leave all paramaters at their default values and generate the Flash file with just one click.

All you need to do is to supply the text and choose an appropriate background, and the smoke color setting. The final Flash file is generated including appropriate HTML codes with just one click. You do not need to know Flash or program its scripting language. You do not have to use any traditional desktop Flash tools to create this effect.

The following Flash image demonstrates this smoke effect. The duration of each smoke puff in the cyan color is half a second before the secondary color white is applied. This effect is processor intensive and not recommended to use in large display.
