A movie title is normally kept in a video title set (VTS) with one or more related video titles. A VTS usually has its associated menu and navigation structures (how the disc is played back when it is inserted into the DVD player). Select the VTS tab if you want to keep the menu for chapter selection or set up options and discard other video title sets (such as advertisements of coming attractions, movie trailers, director's comments, etc.). This backup option preserves the complex navigation structures of the DVD. All video title sets present on the video DVD are shown in the VTS tab. The number of titles within each VTS and the size of the VTS is displayed. The VTS which contains the main movie title is automatically highlighted. Additional stream information such as audio and subpicture if present in the VTS are also displayed.

A VTS may have more than one movie titles in its set. These titles are related, hence the name video title set. However, you can keep or discard unwanted titles in the set to reduce the size of the backup. Smaller video title sets which do not exceed 700 megabytes can be backed up on CD-R media to play back on any CD-ROM drive (mini-DVD). Click on a highlighted title in a selected set to keep or discard the title before clicking the Backup button.

Select the default "Start Normal" option if you do not want to change the playback behavior of the original video DVD. Select the "Start with menu" option to display the menu associated with this video title set during first play.

Select the "Start with title" option if you want to change the playback behavior to start with a specific title within the video title set. Select the title number in the drop-down box to pick the desired title number within this VTS to begin playback.
