We are going to design a root menu which has two pages in this project. The first
menu page displays two small thumbnail images which represent the first two movies.
The viewer can then select or highlight one of the thumbnails on this page to play
back the desired movie. We are going to use the manual routing of button
highlighting so that when the down arrow is pressed while the second thumbnail is
being highlighted, the second menu page is displayed automatically. The second
menu page has the thumbnail image for the third movie. Let us now continue and
modify what has been designed and explained so far in the first guide.
We continue to add a root menu to the first project by selecting the component
"Menus" of the current video title set (VTS 1). The "Add Menu" item is selected
from the context menu by right-clicking while at the "Menus" item. Since the root
menu has two pages, we will need to build two menus in this project.
DVD-Lab Pro creates a new tab (Menu 1) in the main window section with a black
background. To create a menu background using DVD-Lab Pro built-in resources,
select the Backgrounds tab of the Assets window. We can then drag an appropriate
background and just drop it to the menu background as shown in the following
screen shot. If you do not find any background suitable for your projects or you
would like to use your own background image, you can import additional background
images to the Backgrounds tab. The two thumbnail images representing the first two
movies are created by clicking on the "Insert Chapter Still" icon on the tool bar
as following.
