This command links to a specified cell within the same PGC and optionally highlights a specified menu button.
A button value of 0 indicates no highlight. Cells within a PGC are numbered from 1. The DVD specifications
support a maximum of 255 cells per PGC and up to 36 highlight buttons per display menu.
This command is often used to repeat the playback of a movie from the beginning after it ends (LinkCN 1) or
to bypass a group of cells. The cells are present on the DVD but cannot be accessed by the DVD player. Cells
having cell commands are non-seamless by default. LinkCN is not allowed in the First-Play PGC. This restriction
is due to the requirement that the First-Play PGC cannot hold video, audio, or subpicture contents.
This command does not execute the pre-command section of its PGC, and therefore it is more efficient than
LinkPGCN and LinkPGN. In the title domain, LinkCN is more efficient than LinkPGN since there is no implication
to refer to the chapter (PTT) table.
This command can be combined with the
Compare GPRM operations
for conditional branching. When combining, this command is
executed only if the result of the comparison is true.
1)
Compare to another GPRM register and LinkCN
2)
Compare to another SPRM register and LinkCN
3)
Compare to a constant value and LinkCN
